Nokia Fellow Timo Ali-Vehmas D.Sc. (Tech.) is interested in dynamics of ecosystems in digital society. His research aims to understand impacts of different policies and practices to the emerging ecosystems in healthcare, transportation and communications.
His long career in Nokia since 1980 includes different leadership roles in Nokia Mobile Phones’ break through R&D programs, like the ones building the first ever GSM and WCDMA phones – and executive roles in Nokia corporate research and standardization for mobile communication systems and technologies.
He serves also as the chairman of Nokia Foundation, board member in Museum of Technology, member of Finnish Standards Association’s Standardisointilautakunta and as a member of the council of Tekniikan Akateemiset TEK.
